I’ve always said that if you want to make it online one of things you need to be focusing on FIRST is finding products that sell BEFORE going to all the time and trouble of setting up pay per click campaigns, search engine optimisation etc.

You see too many folk think that trotting off to their favourite keyword research tool is going to give them the low down on what’s hot and what’s not.

I can understand that.

Plug in a keyword, see that it gets 1000 searches a day, and folk automatically think that’s where the money is.

You COULD NOT be more wrong if you tried!

If you’ve read my ‘47 Niche Market Research Sites You Must Know About‘ article, you’ll know that I mention "find a product, then a market".

This is essential if you want success. But no, people still don’t get it. They think more searches equals more money.

Wrong, wrong, wrong.

Not all keywords are created equal. There’s a big difference between someone searching ‘digital cameras’ and ‘Canon EOS 40D 18-55mm’.

The person typing in ‘digital cameras’ is in a TOTALLY different part of the buying cycle than the person looking for the ‘Canon EOS 40D 18-55mm’

Someone looking for digital cameras most probably hasn’t a clue which one they are wanting to research or buy. They’re right at the beginning of the buying cycle. If in fact they even want to buy a camera.

‘Digital cameras’ is unspecific, it could mean many things to many people. ‘Canon EOS 40D 18-55mm’ on the other hand means the person searching knows exactly what they are looking for. It’s the centre of the bulls-eye. And that’s where you need to be looking.

Many, many times I find that if you plug in these product specific terms into a keyword research tool, that the number of searches a day are insignificant, and quite often don’t return any results.

Now the average boffin would dismiss this as a keyword not worth chasing. How wrong, oh how wrong. Recently I chased down one of these product specific terms and sold over $13,000 worth of the product in less than 72 hours!

Yeah, read that again. And the term couldn’t even be found in the keyword research tools.

You see part of the problem lies in the fact that these tools take a while to catch up with what the market is actually doing.

Sometimes they’re months behind. This ’secret’ for want of a better word has been kept pretty quiet, for good reason. It’s one of the most easy and profitable ways to rake in the notes, big notes, not piffling pocket change.

Last week I grabbed a copy of a new video course called Long Tail Cash. I thought it would be the same old tired garbage that seems to be littering the information highway.

I have to say that I dropped everything I was doing and was glued to my screen. I watched the entire course from start to finish, and I have to say… I was impressed.

Rarely does a course deliver exactly what it claims. It’s pretty much a no-brainer.

I know that whether you’re  just starting out trying to get your feet wet or are someone whose been in the game awhile and think you know pretty much all there is, that Long Tail Cash is definitely a tool you need in your marketing arsenal.

Long Tail Cash isn’t based on fancy tricks and programming techniques that’ll make your eyeballs pop out and your head spin. There isn’t any complicated "SEO" and nothing about Long Tail Cash is "black hat" and going to get you banned by the search engines.
