Trying Something Different
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed Thanks for visiting!
If you are anything like me, you probably look at a ton of offers and ideas about making money on the internet that appear in your email every day. And I’m sure that, also like me you dismiss most of them. I know I do mainly due the fact that I simply cannot afford to jump onto every “100% guaranteed money making scheme” out there.
Having said that, affiliate marketing still has an attraction – you know, no stock, no customer service, no delivery problems…
My problem is that I, like many others, am promoting internet marketing products to internet marketing types and – damn – it’s competitive and there are some BIG pumped up Gurus that are just simplt better at it than me.
So, I’ve decided to try something different. Something away from information products.
Based on a product I picked a couple of weeks ago, I’m experimenting with an “Christmas Gifts” strategy and first impressions are good. The method covered can actually work all year round but right now, despite a cooling of the economies around the world, there is still going to be a last minute Christmas rush for toys and gifts – and by all accounts the on line sales will increase against his year on last year’s figures. So is it time to try and make something of that Christmas rush, and back off from all the freebie give-aways that are looking to capture my email address again this year (and then push their costly internet marketing products at me)
So as part of my experiment I published this site dedicated to the girls Christmas gift of My Life Portable Simulator. Now if you look at that site, you may think “yuk it looks awful and pretty tacky and it’s UK based” but I can assure you that it’s serving a very special purpose – to help desperate parents quickly choose a Christmas gift for their child and at the same time generate some affiliate commissions for me. Simple really. The site itself has not taken long to produce (using XsitePro2) and I now have a template for other sites that I am going to build around this strategy.
Part of that strategy is to get that site indexed quickly by Google and that is the main reason for this post. However – and this is not a product push, I’d rather not have the competition in Google – if you want to investigate futher exactly what I’m doing, I think that despite the very hyped up sales page and graphic imagery, you will be pleasantly surprised when you click here.

Rather than writing a new post I’d thought I’d do a quick update here.
Since the original post above, the site at http://mylife-console.co.uk is sitting today bang in the middle of page one on Google for the keywords : my life portable console.
So I’m pleased that this has proven possible without any PPC or major link back promotion. The site is very simple, but it’s key is tht Google and the otheres like the text content, whilst visitors may not hang around too long on it and press one of the links or images to leave the site. These links of course are affiliate links to the product they were searching on just a few minutes ago
Is it possible to generate sales using this tactic?
This will tell you more about that :

OK – Great news today.
I have my first affiliate sale through Amazon and my first commission using this method.
As far as I’m concerned this method works – I just need to do more of it. It may be a little late now for big Christmas sales, but what is clear from the full IPK method is the method CAN be adopted for a year round campaign.
I can highly recommend the IKP system :
