A Backlink Plan for Boosting Your Page Rank

December 30, 2008 by Gordon · Leave a Comment

Like a house, a website needs a good foundation in order to stand well in the search engines. That foundation is based on one-way backlinks: links to your website that point to you without you putting up links to those websites. So-called reciprocal links, where you and another website point to each other, are less valuable in terms of search engine rankings. Fortunately, there are legitimate ways to create your own one-way backlinks that will boost your Page Rank.

The idea behind valuing backlinks as a source of measuring authority is simple. The more websites that point to your Web page without you doing the same means you appear to have value to other people. By creating your own backlinks on high Page Rank websites, you can take advantage of this rule.

Blogs, videos, social networking and bookmarking site, select classified sites, news and press releases can all be a part of your backlinking strategy. The key to doing this right is to use the highest Page Rank sites at the “bottom” of your foundation, with links pointing “upwards” toward your website and “across” to your weaker backlinks. The shape of this organization is like a pyramid, with the strongest links at the bottom, all pointing upwards toward the website at the top and passing through the “weaker” links near the top.

This strategy is being used by some of the most sophisticated marketers in very competitive niches like Make-Money-Online. You can do the same in your own narrow, less competitive niches with great results. Because you will have less competition within these narrow niches, it will be relatively easy to dominate the search engines for your particular niche.

The foundation of this linking strategy is to use the highest Page Ranked sites to create Web pages that have backlinks to your main website and the lower ranked pages you will also create to give backlinks to your main site. The “weaker” pages will only have backlinks to your main site and never have reciprocal links to your higher ranked pages. There are several free resources you can use to measure the Google Page Rank of any given website. Do a search, find them and use them to set up your “pyramid” of links.

Another way to envision this strategy is that of a Master website with Slave Web pages that support the Master site. The strongest slaves are at the bottom, supporting the weaker ones above them and the master at the top. The weaker ones give support to the master, but let the stronger ones stand on their own, without backlink support. All of this backlink support flows to the master at the top, which has no backlinks to any of the slaves below.

Once you become familiar with using this method of backlink creation, you’ll easily implement it the next time you set up a campaign, affiliate program or product launch. Just start from the bottom and work your way up.

Send Only 3 Visitors And You Get This For Free

If you are an active affiliate with Profit Tools I thought you like to know that I’m currently experimenting with my latest Turbo script – Turbo Referrer Pro and I have my first “marketing test” set up.

Here’s how YOU can benefit from my marketing experiment.

First, if you take a look at this page you will see a report on the subject of List Building for Newbies. (A very hot topic in Internet Marketing)

It’s a really good, no fluff report for anyone who is new to list building (80% are). Initially I was going to sell it, maybe with a 100% commission twist – but I changed my mind.

I wanted to use the report to help YOU as well as ME for the longer term -  so here is what I came up with.

If you refer only 3 VISITORS to that page (no sign ups, nothing to buy) I’ll send you the Master Resell Rights to this excellent report – you can go on and sell it if you like.

Also, if your referals go on to buy anything through the Profit Tools Affiliate program, you will be credited for those sales.

How?

First, make sure you send as many of your people to the page using your unique affiliate link like this :

http://profit-tools.com/ListBuildingForNewbies/index.html?aff_id=ID

where “ID” is your Profit Tools Afilliate Partner Number

When you do this, your visitor will be “stamped” with your unique affiliate ID, and this “stamp” lasts up to 10 years thanks to Fantasos(R)!

Any products they go on to buy that are part of our affiliate program – are credited to YOU.

You get paid by us via PayPal after any guarantee period has expired, normally on or around the 15th of the month.

Make sure you log in, get your Affilite ID number and update your PayPal details inside your affiliate account profile here.

You only need to send 3 VISITORS to that page to get your MRR version of List Building For Newbies. You don’t have to buy ANYTHING to qualify. :)

Now – maybe you don’t yet have an autoresponder “list” to send to. No problem, because as you will see you can use the Tell A Friend form at the bottom of the page to pick up your contacts from your email accounts that you may already be using. It’s a classic “tell a friend” with a few twists for the active affiliates.

Caution : Please, please, please DO NOT SPAM or try to cheat the system, the script is VERY STRICT and will simply ban you if there is even one abuse complaint received.

Thank you for support with this experiment!

In 2009 you will see even more innovation coming from my Fantasos(R) platform (the software that runs the sales, delivery and affiliate programs for me).

Make Your Site Sticky

When you are building your online business, among the key constituents you want to cover is how to make your internet site sticky. This means that you not only prefer to get Web surfers to visit your site, but you want to be sure they spend time exploring what you’ve to offer once they get there.

If you have a situation where you are bringing a lot of hits to your internet site however it Is not converting to increased sales, have a look at your web site from the viewpoint of a possible buyer to try to find out where the trouble is. Then you are able to bring in corrections to make your web site stickier.

Is Your Site Easy to Navigate?

When you first click on your own web site, can you find your way about quickly and easily. If not, then you need to form a few alterations. Bear in mind that people who are browsing the web searching for information will click away whenever they do not find what they want to know in less than minute. They can lose interest faster than that!

Be sure that your web site visitors know exactly how to get where they are going by using a menu or tabs that clearly show the page they link to. You also want to be sure your web site visitors can return to a previous page or your Home page whenever they land up in the wrong section of your internet site.

Tell Your Visitors What You Want Them to Do Next

Make it easy for your internet site visitors to know what action you wish them to take. It is absolutely acceptable to put something on your web internet site that says, Click Here, Buy Now, or Learn More. Do not keep them thinking about the next step you want them to take. You are far better off (and will see additional income) whenever you tell your visitors what you want them to do than if you leave them to their own devices.

Make it Easy for Customers to Contact You

A few people are rather comfortable with browsing the web to look for information, however when it comes time to make a purchase, they would sooner place it by telephone or attend a brick and mortar location. If possible, give your buyers multiple alternatives to communicate with you. Offering up a live chat alternative may be useful, as well; the client can get the information they need to arrive at a conclusion right away, rather than clicking away from your web site to get it elsewhere.

Tell Your Visitors to Bookmark Your Site

A potential buyer will probably visit a couple of times before arriving at the decision to buy from you. Even if they were truly impressed with your web site, how are they going to find you again Tell your web site visitors without doubt to bookmark your web site so they may visit again. Internet surfers may believe they will recollect your URL, however chances are they will not. Otherwise, you may have lost out on the chance to do business with that individual entirely, which isn’t your goal when you are building up a business online.
